We are looking for a Python Scientific Programmer with a passion for pushing new technologies to the limits. As a Scientific Programmer, you will work with our Delivery team, helping the company realise the transformation of healthcare through digital innovation.

What you’ll be in charge of

As a Python Scientific Programmer you:

  • Understand high-level requirements and translate them into technical ones.
  • Translate high-level prototyped data science algorithms and methods into production code.
  • Design, build and maintain scalable, testable and reliable high-performance Python code.
  • Provide reports of % code coverage and Unit tests passed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design and implement new micro-services.
  • Work on bug fixing and improving the performance of existing services.
  • Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximise the quality of the Python microservices.

What we are looking for

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or any related field; or two years or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.
  • Desire to work in a respectful, transparent, and collaborative work environment.
  • Proven working experience in Python development for at least 3 years.
  • Have published at least one repository in Github (or any additional personal repository that can be shared) wherein it could be observed the Python skills.
  • Strong knowledge of designing highly scalable Python microservices.
  • Knowledge of the basis of data science methods. Knowledge in statistics for conducting data analysis will be a strong plus.
  • Experience in using scientific programming libraries like Scipy, Numpy, Pandas and Sklearn.
  • Experience in working with agile methodologies.
  • Proficiency in using Flask and/or Django frameworks to create microservices. Experience with RESTful APIs to connect applications to back-end services.
  • Solid understanding of the full microservice development lifecycle.
  • Experience in testing frameworks (Pytest) and tools for % code coverage.
  • Some experience in building CI/CD Python pipelines.
  • Experience with third-party libraries and package/dependency managers like Poetry, Anaconda and Pyenv.
  • Knowledge of good practices for coding and linting tools.
  • Proficient understanding of version control systems: git.
