Overview

We are looking for a experienced Signal Processing Engineer with a passion for pushing the new technologies to the limits. As a signal processing specialist you will work with our team of talented data scientists to design and build the next generation of our set of digital biomarkers, while helping the company realise the transformation of healthcare through digital innovation.

It is a full-time remote position, but there is an understanding that some presence may be required in Cordoba at one point.

What you’ll be in charge of

  • Improve the current set of signal processing algorithms from IMU sensor signals, in order to attain more reliable digital biomarkers which better describe the patients with neurological diseases.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design and implement new digital biomarkers. A direct collaboration with biomedical experts is required.
  • Design and implement robust signal processing algorithms to extract digital biomarkers from new tests included into the mobile applications.
  • Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies and advanced methods to calculate more effective digital biomarkers, producing a better understanding and diagnosis of patients with neurological diseases.
  • Support the data science team in testing and validating potential biomarkers.

What we are looking for

  • Graduated from a technical engineering career associated/related with the job description; e.g. Electrical Engineering.
  • To have a PhD in related areas. It will be mandatory to have at least a Master degree in areas related with signal processing for biomedicine.
  • It will be a plus if the candidate has a record of journal/international conference publications in related areas.
  • It will be a plus if the candidate has experience in the computer vision area.

What we’d like you have

  • Proven working experience in signal processing for at least 3-5 years.
  • Solid understanding of the built-in IMU sensors incorporated in modern smartphones; e.g. accelerometer, gyroscope and magnetometer.
  • Proficient understanding in the application of advanced filters to reduce the noise and detect outliers in sensors’ signals.
  • Solid knowledge about methods to calibrate and align sensors. It is mandatory to have experience in fusing sensors to align the signals, and rotate signals from a phone reference frame to a global reference one.
  • Proven experience in extracting digital biomarkers from signals, in order to detect transitions in the signals (e.g. steps, turns, sit to stands transitions, etc.), and characterize and describe the movements of patients with neurological diseases.
  • Strong programming skills on Python, and in related libraries for signal processing (e.g. Scipy and Numpy).
  • Strong skills in doing and presenting data analysis, in specific to conduct analysis derived from the results of the signal processing algorithms.
  • Good communication skills (proficiency in English is a must).

Here’s the deal

We focus on improving the lives of people with neurological diseases. It’s that simple. There’s no small print. No quick fixes. Just big ideas and a commitment to getting it done.

But if we can succeed in achieving that, while ensuring our team can grow and shares in this collective sense of worth, then despite the sometimes hectic days and deadlines/long days and late nights, we’ll sleep well.

Whether you are a seasoned pro, or just getting started, your time with us will be one of constant growth. Being MedTech means we are at the crossroads of a highly regulated world where every decision has every day impacts on patients’ lives.

Perks

  • Competitive salary and incentives, based on experience and deliverables.
  • Freedom to divide your time between home and the office
  • Budget to set up and maintain your remote office
  • Employee stock option plan
  • Flexible and generous Spanish holidays
  • Evolve with a company at the forefront of technology and health

We look forward to planning the future with you.
